Bonifacio is located directly on the Mediterranean Sea, separated from Sardinia by the Strait of Bonifacio. It is a city placed on the best and only major harbour of the southern coast and also is a commune covering a somewhat larger region including the offshore Isles Lavezzi, giving it the distinction of being the southernmost commune in Metropolitan France
The city of Bonifacio is split into two sections. The vieille ville (old town), or la Haute Ville (the Upper city), on the site of a citadel, is located on the promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The citadel was built in the 9th century with the foundation of the city. The Citadel has been reconstructed and renovated many times since its construction and most recently was an administrative center for the French Foreign Legion. Today it is more of a museum. Historically most of the inhabitants have resided in the Haute ville under the immediate protection of the citadel. The harbour facilities and residential areas below, la marine, line the narrow shelf of the inlet and extend for some distance up the valley, giving the settlement a linear appearance and creating a third residential section limited by St. Julien on the east

Sperone golf club is located at the tip of Corsica, close to Bonifacio. The 18-hole course of the Sperone golf course offers you a breathtaking view of the turquoise sea of the Mediterranean.
Seventy-five hectares of controlled greenery in a wilderness & 18 holes, some of which are recognized as some of the most beautiful in the world, including the famous 16 hole where the player must drive over the sea. A walk along the beaches and along the limestone cliffs.
The site between Bonifacio and the island of Cavallo in the south of Corsica. No matter where you are, it's a breathtaking view of the "Bouches de Bonifaco" and the Lavezzi islands that is so much to the point of making you forget that you are on a golf course.
The course will call you back of your distraction as the difficulties are numerous. If the nine first does not offer particular dangers, return is another story. The No.12 is a formidable Par3 with its green surrounded by rocks. The No.13 is narrow and ends in right dog-leg with a perilous green attack. The No.15 is the signature hole! Departure at the foot of the lighthouse, on the rocks, surrounded by water then dog-leg left, unforgettable.
